Our Guidelines

Welcome

Great to see you here! We know one would generally speed through these lines and not pay attention, but we would like you to be patient and read through this short debrief of what our community is about and lay some common standards. 

Let’s go straight to the point and keep it short, but if something is not clear or you have feedback we’d love to hear from you.

These guidelines are meant to briefly diagram our:

  • Community Principles and values in the community
  • Tools available if you come across inappropriate behavior
  • Activities, responsibilities and roles  in the platform
  • Application process, inviting new members and keeping the community a space of trust 
  • How we handle content and what can be shared outside the community

Community Principles & Values

Dive is an exclusive audio-space for professionals of all industries. Members can create, join or schedule audio-rooms for live discussions, sharing insights and learnings about their career or industry, and collaborating on new ideas. 

Any interaction and discussion though heated is done with the highest respect and empathy and we expect all members of the community to take care of this and other values Dive promotes. 

As a community member, we ask you to help us foster an authentic and cohesive environment. Treat all other community members with respect and keep in mind  that it is ok to have differences in opinion or belief. All members are expected to embrace and respect the following Community Principles:

  • Authenticity: Be yourself
  • Respect: express yourself freely, but always respect others’ opinion, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religious affiliation or belief, disabilities or diseases or any choice of the matter. Let others express themselves freely.
  • Inclusion: be mindful of your opinions and facts you share, always tolerating and considering diverse people and perspectives.
  • Appreciation: give credit where credit is due, in case you refer to the words/creation of someone else. Please be precise about it.
  • Be respectful of the privacy of others: don’t reveal confidential or private information and respect others’ personal space (including their user in Dive).
  • Take care of the community: do not allow those who incite hate or violence or spread false information to have a voice. You are at the frontline to take action and report any breaches to our Community Principles.
  • Foster meaningful and genuine interactions: don’t impose on or harass community members with spam, brand promotions, unconsented sales or fake news.

If you don’t agree or can’t follow these simple principles we kindly ask that you don’t apply for access or consider participating in our community. 

Dive encourages you to be unapologetically yourself and share your value with the community. Though you are invited by trusted members, please check the following grid to know if this is a space for you:

You'll thrive in the community if:

  • You are an action-driven professional, builder or student, who believes in creating your own opportunities
  • You believe in exchanging experiences and knowledge to create new opportunities and drive ideas forward
  • You seek for the right connections; you know the value of being part of your community
  • Receiving, giving back and taking care of the community is a mantra of yours
  • You love to discuss new ideas and respect dissent

We won't jive if:

  • You are not looking to develop yourself continuously; we aspire to change and keep moving all the time
  • You are looking for webinars / events on specific topics; this is a space for open, spontaneous discussions
  • You want to banter on your personal issues; we are not an therapy group
  • You label people on the basis of their race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation or gender
  • You think the earth is flat, reptilians run the world or that Tom Cruise scientology is true

How will Dive enforce them? Tools / Safety

As we seek to cater for a community of high professional value, we believe members have the responsibility to take care that our Principles and typical etiquette are respected. The Dive team will support the community by actively monitoring the audio and chat rooms but most importantly give the tools to the community to help moderate and report the issues.

Not complying with our Community Principles, our Terms of Service or other applicable guidelines or terms, or any applicable law may result in getting banned from rooms, deleted content, disabled accounts, or other actions deemed appropriate. If you come across content or accounts that may be in violation of any of our guidelines or terms, please let us know by making a report to Customer Support via email at support@diveee.com or by using the in-app reporting tool, so that we can review the alleged transgression, and take appropriate action.

Community Moderation

The Content team will be lurking (and maybe participating) in public conversations to make sure the content is appropriate, truthful and professional; banning users and rooms that do not conform to the above guidelines. If you do choose to have a private conversation and create a closed room for your invitees we will not monitor your talks, though we will be alert to act upon reports. 

Hosts have the tools and responsibility to decide who can speak and who can stay in the room:

  • Invite or accept speakers: you decide who can be a Speaker at the creation of the room or by tapping in the audience member and selecting “Make @user a speaker”.
  • Enable temporary interactions from the audience: you can unmute members raising their hand letting them participate (maybe first check their contributions in the chat room.)
  • Remove speakers and mute speakers or temporal audience contributors.

Everyone has the power to decide who they interact with:

  • Unfollow: tap on a user’s profile and unselect the “Follow” button and they will not be able to invite you to new rooms. They will also not receive notifications on your activity.
  • Block: by blocking a user they will not be able to see any of your activities or join a room you are participating in as a speaker. You will also be informed if you are joining a room where such a user is already participating in. Our team will review the reports against the user and take appropriate further action when necessary.

Reporting transgression

As said (not bad to repeat this), if you come across content or accounts that may be in violation of any of our guidelines or terms, please let us know:

  • Inside the room - real time: best moment to report an incident, we can get all the information, we might not act immediately but don’t worry, we got them. From inside the room tap on the user you want to report and tap the button “Report user”.

  • Email or ticketing - past incident: if the room has been closed you can go to your profile and click the gear button to contact our Customer Support and report an incident. You can also send an email to support@diveee.com. Please provide the information of room name, participant name, date and time so we can process it faster.

  • You may invite one of the moderators directly into the room, so a conflict can be resolved quickly.
  • Last resource: please do not use social media to report a user as it would be more difficult for us to have all the information needed to act upon it.

Temporary audio recording: Solely for the purpose of supporting incident investigations, we temporarily record the audio in a room while the room is live. If a user reports an incident while the room is active, we store the audio for the purposes of investigating the incident. If no incident is reported in a room, we delete the temporary audio recording when the room ends. Audio from (i) muted speakers and (ii) audience members is never captured, and all temporary audio recordings are encrypted.

Roles and activities

It’s simple, people create a room and host a discussion, take part in a conversation or listen to interesting insights. These are the different ways you can participate:

- Host

  • Create or schedule a room to host a conversation around a topic
  • Invite members that follow you to participate as Speakers
  • Invite members from the audience to speak by unmuting them or become Speakers during the conversation
  • Mute or ban members from conversations
  • Close a room conversation

- Speaker

  • Accept an invitation to participate in a room conversation
  • Invite members from the audience to speak by unmuting them or become Speakers during the conversation
  • If you are the last Speaker (with no Host) in the room, you have the ability to close the room

- Audience

  • Listen public conversations
  • Interact in the chat room
  • Raise your hand to request to participate in the audio debate
  • Be invited to be a Speaker

- Moderators

  • in case you experience or witness any violation to the guidelines, you can invite a member of the Dive Team to the room (Dmytro, Lucas, Nikol). 

Sharing the experience --- how to spread the word, who to invite

Dive is not a tool, Dive is a community, a forum where to discuss ideas and get to know each other, find new opportunities, learn and share. We do believe that such a place can only be achieved with our members' help, not only abiding and looking after our Community Principles but also selecting and helping us curate the newcomers. Dive is a closed community of hand-picked individuals and we intend to keep it that way (at least until an AI outsmarts us), so there are two ways to become a member, invitation or cold-application:

Invite

As our trusted member you have the power to invite other like-minded people to join us, we believe that you will hold your invitees to the same high standards you respect and hold other members to. 

Upon validation of your account we’ll provide you with a set of invitational codes you’ll find in your account view on the left side of the screen. These are unique codes to be used once per invite and you will receive a limited amount of them. We urge you to be thoughtful of the people you invite. Think of the people you admire, of those who strive to learn and self-develop, those who will bring value to the community. 

If you need more invites, you can send a request to the Dive Team by sending an elaborated email of why we should provide you with more invites to support@diveee.com.

Profiles will show who has invited you to join the community. This works to appreciate valuable new members and be mindful of who you are inviting to our beloved community. 

Application

As a rule of thumb non-referred users will not be accepted as members, but we will consider applications in due time. 

Feedback 

We are here to be better each time, Dive wants to create the best environment for such a valuable community, so please tell us what you think and things we could do better. You can do this through:

  • Twitter: DM us or tag the user @diveee3 
  • Linkedin: DM us at Dive (diveee)
  • Customer Support: go to your profile and tap on the gear to the left, the menu will show you the button “Contact Customer Support” and open a new menu with the option to send some “Feedback / Suggestions”. 

And if you like our app do give us a review in the Stores … don’t read this if you don’t like it. Kidding aside we love to hear from you. 

Legal

By accessing or using Dive, you acknowledge our Privacy Policy and agree to our Community Principles, our Terms of Service and any other guidelines or terms as may be applicable to your use of or access to Dive, such as our Payment Terms, for example.

Finally, please keep in mind this quick legal note on our Community Guidelines, violations, and how we may enforce them:

  • You are solely responsible for your interactions with other Dive users and you agree that we will have no liability or responsibility with respect to those interactions.
  • We understand that not all Dive users will share our views as to what constitutes a violation of these Community Guidelines. However, to operate a functional platform, we must reserve the right to determine in our sole discretion what constitutes a violation.
  • Our failure to enforce these Community Guidelines in each and every instance in which it might have application does not amount to a waiver of our rights under our Terms of Service or these Community Guidelines.
  • We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to change portions of these Community Guidelines at any time. If we do this, we will post the changes on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last updated.
